"Building on the foundation established in the first five articles of
faith, the sixth article tells us that an organization is necessary, and the
same organization that existed in the primitive Church has been restored. The
restored Church exists on the earth today, with the sacred power received
through the restoration of the holy priesthood." — L. Tom Perry, "The
Articles of Faith," Ensign, May 1998, p. 24

"We have, in original form, everything that has ever been brought to earth
that is part of the great Plan of Salvation--nothing altered, nothing modified.
We believe in the same priesthood authority held by the ancients; the same
organization as the primitive Church, headed by Apostles and prophets; the same
spiritual gifts; the same ancient scriptures as well as new latter-day
scriptures--the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, the Pearl of Great
Price." — Robert E.
Wells, "Our
Message to the World," Ensign, Nov. 1995, p. 66

"These are a few of the infallible signs of the true Church. But there are
others. The Church of today must be of modern origin. Does that surprise you?
Not an ancient church, but of modern origin. That is a vital sign of
identification of the true church." — Mark
E. Petersen, "Signs
of the True Church," Ensign, May 1979, p. 23

"As you investigate the Church of Jesus Christ, you will find it is not a
religion claiming succession from those who shared Christ's earthly ministry;
nor is it a Protestant religion. It is a divine restoration of Christ's earthly
kingdom, organized, as was his primitive church, with 'apostles, prophets,
pastors, teachers, evangelists, etc.' (A of F 1:6.)" — Spencer W. Kimball, "The
Stone Cut without Hands," Ensign, May 1976, p. 7

"This modern dispensation of which I speak fulfills the biblical promise of
a 'restitution of all things' (Acts
3:21; see also Rev. 14:6, 7).
It also fulfills another scriptural promise that 'the Lord doth grant unto all
nations, of their own nation and tongue, to teach his word' (Alma 29:8). We believe in the
restitution of the same organization that once existed in the early Christian
Church, with Apostles, prophets, and teachers (see A of F 1:6). Our origins did
not spring from protest of any kind; hence, we are not a Protestant
denomination. Rather, we understand that the church of Jesus Christ has been
restored to the earth, established, as the Apostle Paul once declared, 'upon the
foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief
corner stone' (Eph. 2:20)."

Spiritual Drift—Our Global Pandemic," Ensign,

Topic: Evidence of the True Church
"The same gifts of the Spirit which prevailed in the church at the time of Jesus
are prevalent today. Some of these gifts are: revelation, healing, miracles,
prophecy, and many others—as found in
First Corinthians, twelfth chapter;
Doctrine and Covenants, forty-sixth
section; and in the tenth
chapter of Moroni in the Book of Mormon. Charity—the pure love of
Christ—will be in evidence among its membership.
"The same power which Jesus gave to His apostles that 'whatsoever ye shall bind
on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall
be loosed in heaven' (Matt.
18:18) will also be in the true church today. There are ordinances and
blessings bestowed by an authorized ministry to Church members. These covenants
and obligations, if entered into and obeyed, apply not just for this life, but
for all eternity." - Delbert L. Stapley, "What
Constitutes the True Church," Ensign (CR), May 1977, p.21
