"The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as it is now
constituted is the kingdom of God on earth. Nothing more needs to be
done to establish the kingdom. (D. & C. 35:27; 38:9, 15; 50:35;
62:9; 65; 136:41.) The kingdom is here, and it is the same kingdom which
Daniel said would be set up in the last days. (Daniel 2:44-45.) This
same kingdom has been set up in past ages whenever the gospel has been
on earth, for the plan of salvation is the gospel of the kingdom. The

"I believe in the triumph of the gospel of Jesus Christ and the triumph
of the Church and kingdom of God on the earth. If ever your faith is
inclined to weaken as you see the onward march of evil and oppression,
read again the story of Daniel who, putting his trust in the 'God in
heaven that revealeth secrets,' interpreted Nebuchadnezzar's dream. He
said concerning our day that the God of heaven shall 'set up a kingdom,
which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to
other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these [other]

kingdom when established upon the earth. Daniel emphasized that point
dramatically when he said, 'The dream is certain and the interpretation

"The world needs the restored Church and kingdom of Jesus Christ, of
which David spoke. The world needs the help of those who have recognized
and received the gospel of the kingdom. The world needs their
inspiration and active participation in the affairs of life. We are an
inspired people. That I know as well as I know that I live. We are
responsible for the proper use of this inspiration. This inspiration is
not confined to our spiritual lives but carries over into all temporal
responsibilities, and included therein is our moral, our civic, our
political, our social, our financial responsibilities. We stand ready to

"The holy prophets have declared that the kingdom of God has been
established, never to be taken from the earth again, nor given to
another people- thus Nebuchadnezzar's dream, interpreted by Daniel, is
being fulfilled. The God of heaven has set up his kingdom up on the
earth in these the last days, 'which shall never be destroyed: and the
kingdom shall not be left to other people.' Like 'the stone cut out of
the mountain without hands,' it shall roll forth until it fills the
whole earth. (Dan.
2:44-45, 34-35.)
And 'the saints of the Most High shall . . . possess the kingdom for
ever, even for ever and ever.' (Ibid., 7:18.)
The climax of this whole marvelous work and a wonder will be the coming
of Jesus Christ through the clouds of heaven to his kingdom to reign as

This is an age of pessimism. Ours is a mission of faith. To my
brethren and sisters everywhere, I call upon you to reaffirm your
faith, to move this work forward across the world. You can make it
stronger by the manner in which you live. Let the gospel be your sword
and your shield. Each of us is a part of the greatest cause on earth.
Its doctrine came of revelation. Its priesthood came of divine
bestowal. Another witness has been added to its testimony of the Lord
Jesus Christ. It is literally the little stone of Daniel’s dream which
was “cut out of the mountain without hands [to] roll forth, until it
has filled the whole earth” (D&C
