"If
they would only remember that the Lord commands His people to do nothing save He
prepares a way whereby they can accomplish it, what hope and courage it would
afford them in their labors! We ought to be a hopeful, prayerful, humble people.
We ought to remember the Lord in all things. We should not forget Him when we
are prospered. If we are blessed because of our humility and faithfulness, we
ought not to imagine in our hearts that we have been able to accomplish some
great thing independent of the Lord. On the contrary, the more the Lord blesses
us, the more responsibility He places upon us, the more humble we ought to be."

1901, First Day—Morning Session, p.13
