Occasionally I place my hands on both sides of the face of one of my
children or grandchildren when they are doing something that will bring
immediate or long-term harm to themselves in the process. I look deeply
into their eyes and carefully explain to them how much they are loved
and cherished. Then I describe the harm that could result from the
actions they have chosen.
I can envision the Savior holding our faces between His hands and pleading with each of us individually to remain steadfast and immovable and faithful to the God who made us. – Ellen W. Smoot, “Steadfast and Immovable,” Ensign (CR) November 2001
