{"id":2989,"date":"2023-04-24T08:38:51","date_gmt":"2023-04-24T15:38:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailywool.net\/wp\/?p=2989"},"modified":"2023-04-24T08:38:51","modified_gmt":"2023-04-24T15:38:51","slug":"ministering-to-the-one","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailywool.net\/wp\/ministering-to-the-one\/","title":{"rendered":"Ministering to the One"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap has-medium-font-size\">It is interesting to note that when Luke, the Gospel writer, is introducing the three stories, he uses the word\u00a0<em>parable<\/em>\u00a0in the singular, not in the plural.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchofjesuschrist.org\/study\/general-conference\/2023\/04\/34uceda?lang=eng#note12\"><sup>12<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0It appears that the Lord is teaching one unique lesson with three stories\u2014stories that present different numbers: 100 sheep, 10 coins, and 2 sons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The key number in each of these stories, however, is the number\u00a0<em>one<\/em>. And a lesson we might take from that number is that you might be an undershepherd for 100 elders and prospective elders in your elders quorum or an adviser to 10 young women or a teacher to 2 Primary children, but you always, always minister to them, care for them, and love them one by one, individually. You never say, \u201cWhat a foolish sheep\u201d or \u201cAfter all, I do not really need that coin\u201d or \u201cWhat a rebellious son he is.\u201d If you and I have with us \u201cthe pure love of Christ,\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchofjesuschrist.org\/study\/general-conference\/2023\/04\/34uceda?lang=eng#note13\"><sup>13<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0we, as the man in the story of the lost sheep, will \u201cleave the ninety and nine \u2026 and go after that which is lost, until [\u2026 until \u2026 until we] find it.\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchofjesuschrist.org\/study\/general-conference\/2023\/04\/34uceda?lang=eng#note14\"><sup>14<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0Or, as the woman in the story of the lost coin, we will \u201clight a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently [\u2026 diligently] till [\u2026 till \u2026 till we] find it.\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchofjesuschrist.org\/study\/general-conference\/2023\/04\/34uceda?lang=eng#note15\"><sup>15<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0If we have with us \u201cthe pure love of Christ,\u201d we will follow the example of the father in the story of the prodigal son, who, when the son \u201cwas yet a great way off, \u2026 saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.churchofjesuschrist.org\/study\/general-conference\/2023\/04\/34uceda?lang=eng#note16\"><sup>16<\/sup><\/a> \u2013 <em>Juan A.
