With all the Lord gives to us, He has asked us to return to Him and His kingdom on earth 10 percent of our increase. He has promised us that as we are honest in our tithes, He will “open … the windows of heaven, and pour … out a blessing, that there shall not be […]
To receive a desired blessing from God, act with faith, striking the metaphorical match on which the heavenly blessing is contingent. For example, one of the objects of prayer is to secure blessings that God is willing to grant but that are made conditional on our asking.15 Alma cried out for mercy, and his pains resolved; […]
God does not judge men as we do, nor look upon them in the same light that we do. He knows our imperfections-all the causes, the “whys and wherefores” are made manifest unto Him. He judges us by our acts and the intents of our hearts. His judgments will be true, just and righteous; ours […]
If at any time during the year our hearts are susceptible to the teachings of the Master and our feelings responsive with appreciation for our blessings, it should be at Christmas time. Covenant promises and blessings are possible only because of our Savior, Jesus Christ. He invites us to look to Him,13 come unto Him,14 learn of Him,15 and bind ourselves to Him16 through the covenants and ordinances of His restored gospel. I testify and promise that honoring covenants arms us with righteousness and with the power of God in great […]
